ダンスクラス/Dance class Xmas party

アヤネのダンスクラスのクリスマスパーティーがありました。プレゼント交換があり、いつもは子供の気が散るからと見せてもらえないクラスをパーティの前に見ることも出来ました。パパがアヤネがテレビを見たりしながらダンスして楽しんでたりいきなり前転したりしているのを見ていたのでダンスクラスに行かせることにしました。保育園のクラスも少人数だしちょっと大きいグループにも慣れるしという名目もありました。もう何ヶ月間か毎週土曜日に４５分間のクラスに通っています。

Ayane had Christmas party at her dance class. They exchange presents and parents could see the class which we usually cannot see because kids get distracted. She has been liking to dance while watching TV so daddy wanted to take her to dance class. We also though it is good for her to be in the large group setting. She has been attending 45 minutes class every Saturday for a several months now.

始めたばかりの時にただ突っ立っているだけで全く何もしないアヤネを、「始めはそうだけど慣れて来たら大丈夫！」との言葉を信じ今回のパーティーの前のクラスを楽しみに見に行きました。パパがいつも送り迎えをしていて、先生とのコミュニケーションはいつもパパ。「まさか!!」「エー！」大きいグループへの指示に全く従えてない！一人ずつの前転を見せるのと一人ずつ回転するのは「アヤネの番だよ！」と言われるのでやってました。「オーノー！」アヤネ一人だけ、それも！ママの課題がまた出来ました。ちょっとダンスムーブメントを何個か覚えてきたし家でも練習しなくちゃ！

Very first class we could observe a little how she does and she was just stood on the line for the whole class. Kids next to her could not move towards her side even though instructor was telling to dance towards right and left because Ayane does not move but was blocking them by standing still. Whoever it was, they said it takes a while but she will get used to it. Daddy always takes her to the class and takes her back. He is the one always communicate with the instructor so I never expected that it would happen again? still? No way! REALLY??? She was not following ANY directions towards the whole class. Yes, she showed a turn and did somersault in front of everyone by herself but it was because the instructor told kids one by one calling them to do so. OH, NO!!! I remember some movements they do so I might practice them so the it might be easier for her to do that at the dance class. Finger crossed!!

チュチュ/Tutu

アヤネが「ドレスアップしたいー！」とか言って来たり、洋服に対して好みが出てきていて最近うるさいんです。見てないと上まで下まで洋服全取っ替えして「ママー、ドレスアップしたのー！プリンセスー！！」といって自分の部屋から登場します。やっぱりすべきじゃないと思っているのか、着ていた洋服はいつもどこか棚の中とかに隠されています。という事で洋服を１日に何回も替えられていては大変だとハロウィンのコスチュームやら何やらとかき集めてドレスアップボックスを作っています。

アメリカで至る所にディズニーのプリンセスのコスチュームを着ている子供を連れたママさん達が買い物してたりするのを見かけます。そして、至る所にコスチュームやらグッズが売っています。アヤネも安いチュチュを持っているんですが、クリスマスだしと作ってみる事にしました。今回はミシンなしのリボンで作ってみました。作り方も簡単で私好み。インターネットに山ほど作り方がのっていて初めての私でもラクチんでした。アヤネの友達のアンナにも作れる余裕でした。

Ayane likes dressing up these days. She often comes down and says "Look, mommy! I dressed up, princess!!" When I leave her with her babysitter, I see 3 different sets of clothes in one day. So I grabbed all costumes she has from Halloween and other stuff like a wand and sunglasses and put them in her chest. She has a tutu from clothes store but I decided to make one to add to her dress up chest so that she can be away from the real clothes to change into, hoping. I made one using a ribbon not elastic this time of course using PURPLE tulle so that I don't have to use my sewing machine. It was so easy and made one for her daycare friend Anna! Just had hard time taking pictures. I just could not let two little princesses stay still and looking at my camera ; )

クランベリーフェスティバル/Cranberry festival

保育園の友達のアンナちゃん家族に誘ってもらって、クランベリーフェスティバルに行ってきました。って、だいぶ前に行ったんでした。フェスティバルだったので楽しい催し物が沢山あり、治人は初一人馬乗りでした：）私が日本にいた時には聞いた事もなかったですが, 日本でもクランベリージュースがあるようですね。　こちらの人気というか出回り方では、りんご、（牛乳、）クランベリー、オレンジジュースの順番ではないでしょうか？　特にお子ちゃまドリンクは。私がちょっと甘過ぎるようで買わないのですが、アヤネもなかなか気に入って飲んでました。

上の写真はクランベリーが水に浮かんでるところです。クランベリーを収穫するのには、クランベリーの木がすっぽり埋まるようなボグという所に木を生やして、実を収穫できるようになったらそこの場所を水浸しにしてクランベリーが浮かんで来たところを掬って収穫するんです。クランベリーの中は何個かの空洞があって水よりも軽いので、水の中の木を機械で揺するとクランベリーが離れて浮かんでくるというわけらしい!?んです。

Ayane's school mate family invited us to go to Cranberry Festival in Wareham in October. I was sooo sooooo excited about my first Cranberry Festival but all were tired and I could not go to see the bog. Next time!! I have never heard of cranberry when I was in Japan in 1995 but I heard they have some cranberry juice there now. Ayane had the great time with her friend and Jake did great with horse ride for the first time.

フォックスウッドカジノ/Foxwoods

コネチカット州にあるフォックスウッドカジノにやって来ました。おじいちゃんがまたまたフォックスウッドからただ部屋をゲットしたからです。それも2部屋！イェイ!! ママはもちろんケチなのでカジノには行きません。食べるだけ。子供はゲームセンター。そして、廊下をひたすら走り回るのです。

We came to Foxwoods. Bubba got TWO free rooms!! I don't go casino. I'm cheap and believe I have no luck. I get what I want with money I have now. I also just go eat at buffet. Kids go arcade and just run around the hallway of 11th floor.

ボストン子供博物館/Children's museum in Boston

図書館で博物館の割引券をもらってボストンの子供博物館へ行ってきました。前回は抱っこされていた治人も、今回はあやねと一緒に博物館を歩いて見て回りました。

ハリケーンで電気がつかずダディーが塗り絵を始めました。治人はクレヨンを握ったり物投げ大会。あやねは頑張っていますが治人に10本も確保しているクレヨンを取られて本気で泣いています。ママはブロギング。ママも治人にカメラを取られそうに！

Hurricane Irene gave us no electricity and we started coloring! Jake just grabbing everyone's crayon and throwing things. Ayane trying hard but having hard time with her little brother taking her crayon away. He is taking my phone too! Ahhhhhh!!!!

最近あやねがたくさん人の顔の絵を描くようになりましたが、今日粘土で人の顔を作っているのを発見!! 手と足も出ています。それもクレヨンで描く時と同じプロポーションでできています。それが何ともまた面白い：)

今回シーズン三回目のニューハンプシャーに行ってきました。今回は友達家族とサンタヴィレッジという小ちゃいお子様向け遊園地に行くためでした。一回目はオジイちゃんオバアちゃんとストーリーランドという遊園地で二回目は仕事の友達とキャンプに行きました。それはまた今度アップしますね。

Third time this season. This time we went again to Santa's Village with our family friend.

ホワイト家お気に入りのエコ湖。ニューハンプシャー州立公園のひとつ。観光地のすぐ近くなのに人の数が少ないのです。プライベートビーチ状態。今回二回目です。

White family favorite lake Echo lake. It's NH state park. It is in the middle of North Conway but not packed at all. It was like our private beach. It was our second time there. Oh, we will go back there again soon. We will try out White lake state park too next time but it was crowded like Myles Standish state park.

帰り道ニューハンプシャーとマサチューセッツとの境にあるビーチに立ち寄ってちょっと足を伸ばしがてらビーチで遊んでご飯を食べました。バンドのコンサートもやっていましたが残念ながら１０時からの花火まではみれませんでした。

We stopped by at Salisbury beach to let kids stretch legs because Hampton beach was too crowded with crazy partying people. We had a chance to see band playing, play arcade games and hot dog for Jake.

初めての散髪？って言われて、もう四、五回目と言うほど散髪している治人です。今回は結構短く切ってもらってサッパリしました。

あやね３才の誕生日/Ayane 3rd birthday party!

あやね３才になりました！　パーティーは今あやねが好きなテレビ番組でニコドリアンという系列のキャラクターのドーラとディエゴをミックスしたテーマのパーティーでした。あやねはそのディエゴのコスチュームを着ています。パパが今回は人が入って跳ね回れる電動パンプで膨らませるパウンシーハウスをレンタルしました。子供も大人も大喜びでした。

パーティーに来てくれた皆様、来れなかったのにあやねのためにプレゼントまでくれた皆様、３才になったあやねの成長を見守ってくださっている皆様、そのあやねのパパとママを支えてくださっている皆様、心から感謝申し上げます。これからも長ーいご指導とご支援よろしくお願いします。あやねはママには信じられないほどとっても良い子に育っています。感謝感謝。

Ayane is 3 now. We did Dora and Diego theme party with a bouncy house. She wore Diego costume. Everyone including adults (especially after party time) seemed enjoying the bouncy house.

Thank you everyone came to the party. Thank you everyone supporting Ayane to grow into such a great girl and also supporting me and Chris until this day. We could not make it without your support. Thank you. Please continue giving us your guidance and support.

クラスのお友達に招待状を出しました。３才になると何でも出来てわかるようになります。招待する友達一人ずつにシールをちゃんと選んではったり、封筒を閉じるのにはどこにシールを貼ればよいかもわかるらしい。

So when you become 3 years old, you will understand which sticker you want to put for a specific person and also know where to put a sticker to close the envelope. I let her send a invitation card to everyone in her classroom this year (We have to do it earlier than this year, my fault! I have to do better.)

冬/Winter fun

春が来ました。というか、来てしまいました。あさってはアヤネの３才の誕生日会なのであわててポスト書いてます。ジェイクも大きくなしましたよ。９ヶ月にして１２ヶ月の服はちょっときつい。春のショッピングには１８ヶ月の服か２４ヶ月の服でそろえます。ともかく冬が長くて室内にこもりがちですが、パパとママは頑張って楽しく冬を乗り切りました。

We will have Ayane's 3rd birthday party in 2 days. Her birthday was 12th of April. Trying hard here to update my blog with the winter stuff before I have to put her birthday party pics. Jake is doing good and big. Jake is 20lb and Ayane is 27lb. He is 9 months old and not comfortably fitting in 12 month clothes. His spring clothes, I am looking at 18 to 24 month clothes!! Well, we tend to be stuck in the house but mommy and daddy tried hard to do something fun. Just simply too cold and dangerous to be outside.

クリスマスのプレゼント使ってます。ママのやってるの見てるのでわかるみたい。でも、レンズを通さないで右目で見てるの見えますか！？

Using her Christmas present from Uncle Jon. "Look, I'm like mommy!" she says. Can you see her right eye!?

プリンセスやフリフリのスカートとかもちょっと興味がでてきて（って保育園の友達とかからの影響大ですが）。「プリティー！？」とか言いったり、踊ったりしてます。

Finally she is started showing her interests in princess and tutu etc. "mommy, pretty!?"

切手の博物館で買った古切手と切手アルバムセットに、今回はノリを使うのに挑戦でした。箱にいっぱい入った一枚2円て売ってる古い切手を一掴みして２５円で売っているアルバムを買ってきました。人里離れた大学の一角にあるんだけど、いつも育と家族連れが何組か来てます。

I took her to Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal HIstory in Weston, MA belongs to Regis Collage. The museum I took my students from the school that I am working for. Every time I go there there are families. They are looking for many buckets full of old 2 cent domestic and international stamps so that they can do some activities there. So Ayane is tucking with stamps and her first stamp album with her GLUE for the first time.

ハイチーズが出来るようになりました。ゆがんでた顔もちゃんと笑ってます。

She can pose to the camera now without making funny face. She is smiling nicely all the sudden!

初めてボーリングでした。パパがずーっと連れて行きたかったボーリングでした。

クリスマス/Christmas 2010

もう年も開けたというのに去年のクリスマスのアップロードです。さすがツリーの下にも置けずにリビングをずーっと占領していただけあって、やはりジョンおじさんがアヤネにくれたトーイストーリーのバズの電動で動く車の写真が一番目での更新です。日本人にとっての私には、「え〜！！！！！　まだ2才でこんな物もらえるのって？？」って思っちゃいますが、そんな私もかなり感覚が麻痺してきてますね〜。さすがアヤネも車には圧倒され気に入ってましたが、下の写真のカメラをもらった時のアヤネの一言。「I love this!!!」だって！パパがくれたバズのコスチュームを着てのプレゼントオープン会でした。

Well, it's 2011 already but this post is with pictures from the last Christmas. Ayane was the one who got more presents than anyone else of course and this car was the biggest present Ayane got from uncle Jon. However, according to Ayane's comment, the gift which is again from the greatest uncle Jon and was the camera below seemed to be the best present she got this year. She is now saying a lot of stuff but it's new for her to talk like...more casual way like "I got it" or "wait up!" When she got the camera, she goes..."I LOVE IT!!" It was cute. So the camera was the one. She did like all gift equally. Yes. She was daddy's barbie doll and wearing all day with Buzz costume which daddy got for her. She was thinking all the presents under the tree were hers and ripping all present. "Is this for me!?" "Are these all mine!?"

Daddy also got what he wanted because daddy tells uncle Jon and again the greatest uncle Jon gets what daddy wants.

そしてこれが私のベベちゃん。５ヶ月です。女の子に男の子を一人ずつやっぱり欲しかったんだったのです。でも２人の子供の育児に家事に仕事に大変だとわすれぎみですがネやっぱり。や〜私の理想だった家族の姿だなーと。下のアヤネが治人にプレゼントをあげてる写真なんて好いじゃないですが。そこにおばあちゃんもいて。ハッピーだなーと感じられてハッピーですね。

Here is my lovely babe. He was mommy's Ken and Jake put the hat for me. It was his first Christmas and also mommy's first Christmas ever with mommy's dream family. A girl and a boy and with my dearest husband. It was niiiiice. And dad and mom and uncle Jon to celebrate the holiday together. This year Jake was 5 month old and fell asleep cute in Nana's arms but sure he should be running around next year. FUN FUN FUN.

ハヌカからクリスマス/Hanukkah to Christmas

ハヌカというユダヤ教のお祭りがありました。いつも１２月にあって８日間続きます。１日目はメインのキャンドルと一番左のキャンドルを１本灯して、2日目はメインで左の二本を灯します。上の写真は５日目の写真ですね。近所のお店でお子様用に売っていた木のメノーラという燭台！？をアヤネに買いました。火を使わなくてもすみ、それでいてアヤネもハヌカのお祭りに参加できるので。ほんとは、ちゃんとお祈りみたいな事をするんですがそこは飛ばしました。何でもみかけからですから。ハハハ

We finished the 8 days of Hanukkah and we did set up our Christmas tree! I bought this Menorah from Target for kids. I think it said it's puzzle on the box!??? Well, it's kids friendly. No real lights, no wax, no injury!! I also got Ayane two Hanukkah plates. She is still doing great eating and trying lots of food.

クリスマスツリーも何年も使っているイケヤの安いツリーです。ちょっとスケスケなので、来年はちょっとグレードアプしたいなー！　ダディ−とアヤネが飾り付けをしました。来年は治人も参加できるカシラとママはとても楽しみです。

Daddy and Ayane did great job putting up ornaments. Next year, Jake will be doing this with daddy, mommy, and Ayane all together☺!!

ニューヨーク-ロングアイランド/Trip to Long Island, NY

ニューヨークのロングアイランドに住んでいるジェシカのところに遊びに行ってきました。ってもう2ヶ月もたってしまいました。マサチューセッツからマンハッタンから橋は通らずに、コネチカット州からフェリーにのって行きました。ちょっとこの辺の地図がわからないとわかりにくいですが、マンハッタンからロングアイランドへ行く橋がとっても混むので反対側から行ったってことなんです。もともと船は好きな私たちで、今回は子供たちとみんなで船にのって行くのはずーっと車で長旅よりとっても楽しかったです。

So we went to see Jessica and her family with Jake to Long Island, New York for the first time in October. Oops. Took a long time to post this one. We had so many nice pictures so. We took her advice and took a ferry from Conneticet to East side of Long Island not going through the bridge to Long Island. We LOVED it. Me and Chris originally love a boat ride. It was much fun with kids!! So this nice lady, Jessica sent this beautiful quilt to Jake showing below. She also made a quilt for Ayane when she was born. We had the great time down there going the great farm with Jessica and her family. Especially Ayane had the great time with George by chasing him around.

今更新しようとしているポストがあるんですが、とても嬉しい気持ちになったので先に更新しちゃいました。

アヤネの初めてのママの絵です!!　仕事から家に帰って来たらベットの上にアヤネが保育園から持って帰って来た作品がいくつかありました。その中からこの絵を見つけました。実

際にママを描いたのか、「これママ？」って言ったのにそうだと答えただけなのか、ママを描いてって言われて描いたのかはわかりません。でも、また新しいママとしての幸せを見つけた日でした。

I have a post I am working on but I had to do this post about something made me feel so so sooooo special as a mom.

Ayane drew mummy!! When I came home, I found the stuck of Ayane's artworks from her daycare. Then, I found this among them!! I am not really sure how this drawing is exactly me. Her teacher might asked Ayane if this is me and she just said yes!? OR she drew it when her teacher told her to draw me!? Well, this tiring day with lots and lots jobs needed to be done at work after the sleepless night taking care of my sick kids all night long last night turned out the great day for mummy☺

ロッタヤンスドッター/Lotta Jansdotter

もう夏が終わり始めた時点で私が考え始める事は、ニューイングランド地方の長くて寒い冬の事。ロッタヤンスドッターという日本でも活動をしていて本も出している人の作品を見つけました。本屋で立ち読みしてカワイイー!!とよくやることですが、本は買わず写真の見まねでマフラーを作ってみました。で、結局本をいつも最後にはかってしまうんですよね。で、帽子も作ってみました。スカーフもマフラーもアヤネに作ったつもりでした。予想どうりマフラーを付けてもらうのに大変でしたが、とても寒いゾーって言って付けてもらいました。帽子はアヤネには小さすぎ治人には大きすぎだったのでまた直して作ってみまーす。

When the weather was getting cooler after the summer, all what I have been thinking is New England long cold winter. I found this Lotta person. I made a scarf just by looking at the picture from her book at the store and then made a hat after I ended up buying her book as usual. Obviously Ayane did not want to put the scarf on but it was very cold and I convinced her to wear it. I have to reposition the button to make it look better. I made the hat for her but it was much too small for her but a little too big for Jake. So I have to add an inch to the pattern and try it again.

優しいお姉ちゃんとプリンセッスごっこ!？/Pretend princess!?

アヤネにブランケットは治人に掛けてあげてって頼んだら掛けてくれたので褒めたら、治人はそこからアヤネのお人形になってしまいました。アヤネはまだあんまり男の子と女の子の違いがわからないんです。かわいそうに治人はブレスレットに指輪を付けさせられて、オモチャにしているアヤネの古い哺乳瓶まで口に入れられてしまいました。ってこれはアヤネの好意から始まったんですけど。なかなか治人も今日は耐えていました。いつも治人はまだお姉ちゃんの声の高さと大きさには耐えきれないんです。いつもガン泣きです。これからもっとどんな風にアヤネと治人が楽しく遊びだすのか楽しみです。

I praised Ayane for putting a blanket on Jake when I asked her to do so. I am not sure why I asked her. Maybe because she tried to touch her or do something to Jake which I tried to prevent. But anyway. So this positive reinforcement made her go farther. She decided to be extra nice to her brother and nicely gave him her precious stuff like her SNOW SNOW and BABY dolls. Then she decided to play with him. She doesn't quite distinguish boy stuff and girl stuff. She started to putting a ring, nickles, and bracelet. Jake was ended up putting Ayane's old milk bottle in his mouth. Again Ayane is trying to be nice to her brother. Well, Jake looked pretty comfortable sitting down there and getting princess treatment. He mostly cannot simply take Ayane's high pitch and tone of voice. It will be fun to see both of them start playing together.

ヘイライド/CN Smith Farm

CNスミスファームへ遊びに行ってきました。ちょうどフェスティバルをやっていて混んでいました。ハロウィーンのオレンジのカボチャをとったり、ヘイライド(普通はトラクターの後ろの付けた荷台に干草をのせて運ぶんですが、そこに人を乗せて農場の周りをぐるっとまわってくれるんです)もしました。ママがヘイライドの長い列で治人と待っている間、アヤネはパパとポニーに乗ってきました。

We went to CN Smith Farm in East Bridgewater for the hayride. The festival was going on there so Ayane tried the pony ride and of course her favorite, the bounce house too. It's getting cold in New England but the temperature went up and became very gorgeous day.

ホームメイドスカート着ました！/Homemade skirt!

スカートはいてくれました。もちろん「かわいいー✿」って言って持ち上げて履いてもらいました。たまに「ヤダー！」って言って洋服を着てくれない事があるので。「カワイイ」という言葉と「pretty」っていう言葉がプリンセスごっこやオモチャのジュエリーなどを使うことによってわかるようになってきています。タイツはダメかなと思ったんですが、この前に行ったパーティーの時もプリンセスごっこのおかげでドレスとタイツでとても気に入ってきて行けてたので大丈夫でした。

この日は近くで鳥に古くなったパンをあげに行きました。パパがアヤネとお約束してたんだそうです。餌をあげて木の枝やどんぐりそしてアヤネの大好きな小石で遊んだ後にアヤネもクッキーを食べて帰ってきました。

Ayane put on the skirt I made with exaggerated encouragement saying "Ooooh soooo PRETTY!!" She started to understand the word pretty or like princess stuff. She plays with jewelry and start liking the pretty dresses. I first thought she might hate the tights but she was ok with all outfit I picked since she had worn the pretty dress and tights when she went to the wedding party saying "oh, pretty dress" and spinning around.

This day, we went to Blue Hills Reservation, the near by state forest to feed ducks. Daddy promised her to do that this past weekend. She fed the ducks, played with acorn and branches. Of course with rocks, her favorite. She then fed herself OREO cookie and came back.

またまたスカート作っちゃいました。なんでって今アヤネの服の衣替えをしてるんです。小さくなって着れなくなった服はいつもは袋につめて友達の双子ちゃんが大きくなった頃に全部あげてるんですが、この服は買ったのにあまり着る機会がなく終わってしまったしかわいいコーデュロイの生地なので思い切って切って作ってみました。あと今私、スカートにタイツ姿がかわいいなと思っているんです。これは柄物だけれど、無地のスカートにかわいい柄のタイツ！それにこちらの冬は厳しくスカートなんかじゃ寒いし、自分も特に寒がりなので持ってもいないしはかせてもいなかったんですが、あやねも大きくなってちゃんと物も言えるようになってきているので女の子だしもっともっとはかせたいんです。次はアヤネにはいてもらって写真を載せますー!!

I made another skirt out of her old dress. Why another one!? I am putting all Ayane's summer clothes away and putting fall and winter clothes in her cabinet. We usually pack all clothes she grew out of into bags and give them away to our friends but I cut this dress and made a skirt especially because I think I bought this dress myself but she did not wear it much. Besides it's a cute fabric. I now like the combination of skirts and tights. I never really let her wear skirt but pants. I don't like her to sit down on the cold floor at the daycare when she is playing or anytime. I hate being cold or expose my legs. I didn't let her wear shorts much either for a long time. Just I cannot take it thinking that Ayane is feeling very cold and uncomfortable putting her thigh on the cold floor and nobody really care or realize how she sits or where she sits or how cold that is etc even though I know that I am a bit.....crazy bit hey. I let her wear onesies for a long time. I know daycare staff did not like it because it's a pain in neck for them to take pants off, unbutton, change a diaper, put buttons, and put pants back on BUT I didn't want her belly to feel cold or touch something with it. CRAZY but if you are Japanese, you will understand and agree with me!? I will upload pictures of Ayane wearing these next time.

トイレの練習/Potty training

トイレトレーニング始めてまーす。真剣は真剣ですが真剣じゃないんです。今のところ、ウンチがだいぶ出来るようになってきています。ウンチの時は特にどっかに隠れてしていました。顔を見ればだいたいわかり、今ではよく自分から言えるようにもなりました。ウンチが出そうなのがわかって、そしたら言っているんです。でもずっとウンチが出すのがいやで足を絡ませてトイレの前で、「ノー、ノー！！」って言っていました。気持ち悪いのか痛いのかいやがっていました。まだおむつにもしちゃうんですが、トイレでできたらシール！という事になってます。おしっこはトイレに行けば大体いつもできますが、おむつはだいたいいつも濡れています。ほんとは、カレンダーかなにかにシールを貼るつもりだったんですがなんでかこうなってしまいました　(ってパパがそうしろっていったんです）。

We have been trying to teach Ayane to use a potty. Kinda serious kinda not. Not persistent. So far she pee pee on the potty pretty much every time we let her sit on it but again we are not pushing this too hard so she still wets her diaper/Pull Ups. We more focus on poo poo. We caught her poo poo on her pants making 'pushing' red face mainly hiding behind the dining table. So she now tells us when poo poo is coming and go to the potty even though she hated it to poo on the potty. She holds it so hard crossing her legs (so cute when she does that !) in front of the potty refusing to sit down and asking for a new diaper to put on. I think she hates the sensation of poo poo coming. She always said "NOOOOOO NOOOO!" and wanted to put her diaper back on so that she can poo poo on it. She could use the potty for pee pee but not potty so I don't exactly don't know what she doesn't like. She now poo on the potty but cries and asks us to wipe her bum bum after she pooed!? Well, she gets stickers after she pee or poo. Something to encourage her and make this experience positive and fun. We tried to get something like calendar or something to put the stickers on but ended up letting her put stickers on the potty (that's daddy let her do that in the first place).

スカート作り/Handmade skirt

私の古いTシャツでアヤネのスカート作ってみました。こういう簡単な料理も裁縫も大好き。あんまり大きな声じゃ言いたくありませんがね。Tシャツを下から適当に市販のスカートと同じぐらいの長さに切って、上のところを折ってミシンでぐるりと二回縫ってゴムを入れるだけ。Tシャツだから端がほつれてくる事もないので、まさに切って縫うだけ。アヤネはちょっとパンツの上から履かせたのでいやがっていました。A型なんです。ゴムのサイズも家にある細いサイズので作ったのでゴワゴワして嫌だったみたいですね。次はもっと頑張っていい生地で指示通りに作ってみま−す。

I made a skirt for Ayane out of my old t shirt. Came out ok besides it was just a test. I love easy stuff. I cut it 11 inches from the bottom, and fold and saw two lines on the top to put elastic in. No need to trim the hem or anything. Aynae did not like it because I put it over the pants she was already wearing. Also I didn't use the correct size elastic so she felt uncomfortable around her waist. Well, I will try better next time with better fabric.

リンゴと梨狩り/Apple & Asian pear picking

リンゴ狩りに行ってきました。梨の方がやっぱりリンゴより食べやすいので、ママとパパのメインは梨です。保育園でもちょうどリンゴのことを話しているらしいのでアヤネはエキサイトしていました。治人はずっと寝ていてくれました。来年は治人ももうちょっと参加できるんではないでしょうか。楽しみー!!

We went apple picking to Lookout farm again. For me and Chris, we mainly pick Asian pears. Ayane was very excited and know what she was doing since she is learning and talking about apples. Jake slept through for us. I hope he can more join in this activity next year!!

ボストン子ども博物館/Children's Museum in Boston

ボストンの子ども博物館に初めて行ってきました。今あやねのテレビのお気に入りキャラクターであるアーサーにも会えて楽しい一日になりました。

Ayane visited Children's Museum in Boston for the first time. One of the exhibits is Arthur from PBS Kids and Arthur is her favorite TV program right now. Also Pingu from Switzerland. We had a great day and also a long day going through many exhibits.

特大ブロックに登ったりくぐったりバランスバーの上を歩いたり運動もしました。パパがブロックを集めてイナイイナイバァをアヤネとしました。

She played with the giant blocks and tried walking and standing on the form balance bars and steps.

なんでなのか調べた事はないんですが、この博物館には前から日本の京都の家があります。といっても畳の部屋と、小さい日本庭園、台所、お風呂、そしてお便所といったところです。ちゃぶだいに、仏壇もあったかな。アメリカ人のスタッフが勤労感謝の日について説明してました。近いうちにあるのかな？もう忘れましたというかアメリカのカレンダーには出てこないので。実は二階に上がれる階段もあるけど上には上がれません。たまにお茶会をしたりするらしいです。

Not sure and I have never tried to find out why this museum has a Japanese house exhibit but we visit it there. Tatami room, traditional Japanese toilet, Japanese garden, and mailbox which she is touching. She likes to get mails with daddy at home too.

ボール遊びはアーサーの次にことのほかお気に入りでした。

She really spend a lot of time with balls. Not just let the ball go but observed the whole thing.

水遊びもことのほか大好き。アヤネいつもお風呂は長風呂です。

She also enjoyed water play A LOT. She always want to spend a lot of time in the bath.

お姉ちゃん業/Being a big sister

初めてのオモチャ/Play time

ハルトがだんだん重くなり私の手も痛くなってきました。パパが昔アヤネにいただいたオモチャをハルトのために出してきました。ダッコがまだ？大好きなハルトなので出来るか心配だったのですがけっこうぶら下がってるオモチャをちゃんと見ていました。流れてくる音楽も気に入っているみたいでした。アヤネが同じオモチャで遊んでいる昔の写真も入れてみました。似てますかふたり？アヤネの方にはちょっと気違いにオモチャがいっぱい付いているのが見えますか？最初の子どもにはこうなんですよね。

Jake is getting weight and my hands hurt lately. We try to put him down but he is pretty much one of the babies don't want to be put down still or forever!? Daddy took out this toy which one of our former coworker Mutsumi got for Ayane to see if Jake would like it and play on the floor. He did better than I expected. He seemed to like the music coming out of the toy fish. I found the pictures of Ayane playing with toys. Look how crazy I was putting MANY toys hanging for Ayane who is our first!

アヤネはこのオモチャが気になって気になって遊びたくてしょうがありませんでした。ハルトを踏んづけたりオモチャを落っことしそうで危なっかしいので、最初はこのマットの横にアヤネのブランケットをおいて寝かせていたんですがそれでもダメで結局アヤネをハルトの横に寝かせるはめに。最後の写真。ハルトが遊んだ後も気になって遊んでます。ハルトの時ぐらいはアヤネも手や足をちょっとばたばたするぐらいだったのに、今ではいろんなオモチャでちゃんと遊べるぐらいに成長しました。ママは、ハルトが大きくなるのも楽しみです。

Ayane wanted to use this toy and tried to squeeze her in next to Jake so I put her favorite blankie right next to this mat but I ended up putting her right next to Jake. Look at the last picture to see how much she likes this toy!? She became a big girl who can play with many different toys now even she could slightly move her arms and legs when she was a month old.

オジイちゃんとオバアちゃんの家へ/Visiting Nana and Bubba's

オジイちゃんとオバアちゃんの所へ行ってきました。日曜日はいつもママとパパが仕事なのでオジイちゃんとオバアちゃんの所へ行って面倒を見てもらっていましたが、私も産休に入ったしパパも夏休みで行っていませんでした。ここのところよく「オジイちゃんとオバアちゃんの所へ行きたい！」といきなり言い出していました。カワイイですよね、そういう事ってちゃんとわかっているんですよね。という事で、少しママとパパは面倒を見てもらっている間に休ませてもらいました。

We visited Nana and Bubba's because Ayane misses them so much lately. They had been taking care of Ayane every Sunday because mommy and daddy has to go to work on Sunday but she hasn't been going there since I was on my maternity leave and also the school mommy and daddy works is now on vacation. Ayane asks for Nana and　Bubba and talks about them often now. She starts asking for them especially a few days after every Sunday or anytime. She is very smart. She had the great time there when mommy and daddy could had a little break.

ボッピークッション/Boppy!!

ボッピークッションなるものをゲットしました。なんで買ったかって、腰がとうとう痛くなっちゃんです。こちらではまあまあ乳幼児がいる人には知れている商品で、クロワッサン型したクッションです。ミルクをあげる時なんかに自分の腰の所に付けて、その上に赤ちゃんをおいてミルクをあげるんです。ようするに腕で抱く代わりにそのクッションが赤ちゃんを抱いてくれるわけです。あとは頭がちょっと上がった状態で寝かしたり、少し大きくなったら座る時のサポートになったりするのです。ほんとは寝かしつけちゃいけないんでしょうが、ちょっと腕が疲れて用事をするのにバッチリです。

I got Boppy! I badly hurt my back finally and I needed anything for relief. I wanted Boppy for a while but I was suspicious about Boppy. Somehow working good and Chris loves it while feeding him. I use it to put him down and to do some stuff because he sleeps longer in it even though I know he should not sleep in.

気持ちよくて泡出して寝てますね。

ハルト１ヶ月迎えました！/1 month old Jake

時間が経つのは早いですね。ハルトは１ヶ月の誕生日を何日か前に迎えました。１ヶ月検診もしました。やっと余裕も出てきて、ハルトの寝ている時ではなくて起きている時の写真が撮れたのでブログの更新をしました！

ハルトが誕生しました。ジェイク-ハルト-ホワイトくんです。ヨロシク！大安吉日のそれも出産予定日ピッタリの７月１７日の夜中の１時２９分に産まれました。３５００gちょいですかね。治斗と書きたいところですが、まだわかりません。ハルトのハルは治子おばあちゃんの治に決まりですが。まーるく治めるの治子おばあちゃんの治ちゃんです。

Jake Haruto White is here!! He was born on the due date, July 17, 2010 at 1:29 am. 7lb 14oz. I went to work until the day before and very next day my contraction started on the way back to home from the trip to Rockport, MA. His middle name "Haruto" came from my grandmother Haruko. Jake was originally came from Chris' grandfather's name Jack but Jack turned to Jake. Anyway both first and middle name were came from our very special people.

ハルトも髪フサフサで産まれてきました。両手ほぼ５本の指のそれも両端にささくれを付けて産まれてきたので、手袋してます。さてさて、ママとパパどっちに似てるんでしょうね！？

He was born with full of hair. He is wearing the gloves because nails are long and also funny thing is he was born with hangnails on almost all fingers! So who do you think he looks like!?

金魚～水族館/Goldfish~Aquarium

金魚を飼ってます。犬のことは話しましたが、アヤネ金魚は大丈夫みたいです。かわいそうに家の金魚はタンクではなくてセサミストリートのELMOのドロシーのようにボールの中に入ってます。

Daddy got goldfish. I talked about Ayane with dogs but she seems ok with fish. Our poor fish live in a bowl like Elmo's Dorothy not in a tank.

一年に2回行ったらもとが取れるのでボストンの水族館のメンバーシップも買いました。最近保育園のちょっとお姉さんの誕生日会に招待されていって、アメリカはすごいですね3歳の誕生日に小さい蛇やトカゲなどの爬虫類を連れてきてエンターテイメントしてくれる人を雇ってました。プリンセスのドレスを着た人が来て一緒にメ－キャップしてくれたりもするんですよ。ともかく、爬虫類系もゼーンゼン平気で水族館のヒトデさんもウニさんもバシバシ触るというか握ってしまいそうなくらいでした。

We bought a membership from New England Aquarium. It cost $75 a year and it's more than $75 if we go there twice a year already. Ayane was fine with a huge sea turtle, shark, starfish, and sea urchin too. Ayane was recently invited for her little older friend from Day Care and touched snake, lizard etc no problem too but dogs. She almost squeeze starfish.

家具屋さん/Furniture shopping

頼んでおいた切れちゃったソファーカバーの新しいカバーを家具屋さんに取りに行ったついでに子供用家具売り場で遊んできました。ついでではなくてそのつもりで行ったんでした。とっても可愛いいアヤネのポーズが撮れてママもパパも大満足です。パパがアヤネを犬で遊ばせているのはこの何週間か前にペットショップに行ってアヤネが犬に対してどんな反応をするか見に行って一緒にいるのは大丈夫だったけど犬にそばにこられたり触わられたりするのを怖がったので練習してるんです。パパ私にアレルギーがなかったら買いたいんです、犬。

We went to a furniture store to pick up a new couch cover we had ordered. Then we stopped by at the kids section. The first picture came out really really good. Daddy made her do that pose and I took a picture. Oh, daddy is practicing Ayane to get used to a dog. We went to a pet shop a couple of weeks ago and Ayane had a little bit hard time a dog coming to her and touching a dog so daddy is practicing. Daddy wants a dog if I am not allergic to dogs or cats or anything.

節分/Setsubun

節分でしたね。暦の上ではそうですが本当に暖かくなってくる春が待ちどうしくなりますね。妊娠５ヶ月に入った私は腹巻が欲しくて日本から送ってもらいました。荷物の中に小さい袋の福豆が入っていてアヤネがその袋に興味を持って開けろと言うので開けてやりました。食べるのか!?と見ておりますとちょっとまわりをむしり始め食べ始めました。吐くかな?と思ったら「もっともっと!」と言ってムシャムシャ食べ始めました。帰ってきたクリスにも言ったら「だって美味しいもん！ポップコーンみたいだ。」だそうです。豆まきが出来るのが楽しみです。

February 3rd is SETSUBUN in Japan. If you are 30, you are supposed to eat 30 roasted soybeans so that you can bring luck in. We also throw beans from the entrance of the house toward someone pretending the demon so that we will get rid of the evil spirits in your family and also throw beans into the house to bring the luck in. Well, it was manageable for me to eat 10 or 16 soybeans but they are not easy to eat like 35 peanuts. I cannot eat 35 soybeans. It's not that great taste. My mom sent me a package from Japan and also packed small packages of soybeans called FUKUMAME and Ayane wanted to open the package so I opened it. I was wondering her reaction when she eats it and imagining her spitting out, but she starting asking more and start munching. Daddy also thinks roasted soybeans wasn't that bad!? He thinks it's more like popcorn. I cannot wait the next year SETSUBUN so that we can do the throwing beans event and enjoy eating 2 soybeans for Ayane, 36 soybeans for mommy and 35 for daddy next year.

明けましてオメデトウございます！/ Happy New Year!!

新年明けましてオメデトウございます。今年は寅年、私の干支の年でーす。私たち家族は元気にやっております。毎日毎日、アヤネの成長に驚かされ楽しい毎日を送っております。アヤネは最近赤ちゃんの人形をバギーに乗せて、赤ちゃんにキスしたりヨシヨシしたりして話しかけています。あとは「ダディー、プリーズ！」とか「ママ来て！」とか言ってますますよく喋る様になりました。歌の歌詞の最後の言葉を歌ったり、パパが「ウー！！！」ってアヤネの事を捕まえようとすると「ヤダー!!」とか言ってにげたりしてかわいいです。パパはボストン東スクールの寮長の役に就いて3年目になりとても大変ながらもいつも私とアヤネのベストパパであります。ママの私のニュースとしては、今年の7月に二人目の子供を産む予定であります。昨日2回目の超音波の検査で脊髄の辺りをチェックしたようですがパーフェクトだといわれました。でも今回は前回と違って35歳になったママなのでいろいろちゃんとチェックしてもらっています。でもすごいですね、今回いわゆる世の中で言う高齢出産の人を沢山見かけます。年の事は私は全然心配していませんが私ごとではないのでちゃんと健康管理しようと思います。ちなみにいとこのマキちゃんも今年6月に出産予定です。アヤネはマキちゃんがたけるくんを妊娠している時に私がマキちゃんのオナカを触って妊娠菌をもらって妊娠したんです!　私たちって仲良しなんです!　楽しみですね。パパは二人で打ち止め！って言っているけども次も女の子だったら絶対私は三人目トライしたいですね。男の子！！前回より悪阻は悪くないですが2ヶ月から4ヶ月目に入った今も続いております。食べないと、食べても、食べたそばから食べないと気持ちが悪くて、今回はめまいもします。今のところの好物は、ジンジャーエール、カボチャの煮付け、キムチやキムチ系の辛いもの、うどん、もずくやお酢系のしょっぱいもの、うめぼし、カレーライス、たまにインスタントヌードル、(日本の)チョコレート、大根おろしの和風ハンバーグなどがメインで、けっこうその時その時食べたいものがはっきり決まりそれ以外食べられません。男の子でしょうか?女の子でしょうか？私は男の子に９０％です。マキちゃんが教えてくれた中国の産み分けカレンダーがそう言っているので!　ハハハ

Happy new year everyone! This year is the year of Tiger! It's my year. I will be 36 years old. Our family is doing good. We enjoy everyday watching our daughter, Ayane growing. She plays with her first baby doll patting her, kissing her, and pretending smelling her dirty diaper like her daddy tells her. It's so fun watching and hearing her talking to the doll like we talk which she picks up everyday. It's so funny. The other day she copied me saying "Oh maaaan!!" She also improved her talking in a longer sentence. "Daddy, please!" "Mommy come here!" "Are you ok (to the doll)!? etc. She sings songs singing the last word of songs like "(jingle all the) waaay" and "{Spongebob Square) paaaaants" etc. She is picking many more words everyday. For daddy, it's his 3rd year being the top of the residence program of Boston Higashi School. Even though all the work he has and stress, he is our best daddy in the whole world and me and Ayane loves him!!!! For mommy and our family, I am 4 months pregnant and the due date is July 17th, 2010!!! I had my 2nd ultrasound yesterday and they checked around the baby's spine but the doctor said it looked perfect. There is no word better than "perfect" for expecting mother! Since I turned 35 last year, they seem more cautious about this pregnancy just because. I am not worried but I am trying my best to eat healthy and control my health. Oh, my cousin Maki is expecting at the same time and her due is June. Me and her has good relationship. She supported me for my last pregnancy a lot and we talked about this "pregnant virus" which you get pregnant if you tough her belly and touch mine in a few months. I don't dislike these stuff. Happy stuff. We will find out the gender of the baby at the next appointment, probably, hopefully. Daddy says 2 is enough but definitely 3rd one IF the next one is a girl. I gotta have to have a boy and girl!! Maki is expecting 3rd one so I think I can do it too. My guess is more than 90% a boy like Maki told me about this crazy Chinese baby gender prediction calendar. Again just for fun thinking and taking about these fun stuff. 90% accuracy is crazy. Well, I am suffering this morning sickness but the level of this sickness is much lower than last time but I think it's kinda longer than last time. I cannot stop eating. Sickness won't stop even I keep eating. After stop eating the sickness comes right back. This time I feel dizzy too. So far I like to eat Japanese pumpkin called buttercup squash? in English?? ginger ale as usual, Korean Kimuchi or hot stuff, Udon noodle, pickles and other vinegary stuff, curry, occasionally instant cup noodle (it has sodium in it), Japanese chocolate snack, Japanese style "daikon-oroshi" hamburger are the main things. It's always the particular thing I want to eat ONLY. Nothing else makes me feel better complete but again I have keeping eating after I ate the particular thing I wanted to eat anyway so doesn't matter. I wonder this is the sign of boy or girl!?

アヤネ初めてのディズニーワールド/Ayane's 1st Walt Disney World

パパが企画してパパ方のおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんも連れてフロリダのディズニーワールドでクリスマスを過ごしました。イェーイ！！今アヤネの中でディズニーキャラクターが流行っていて、アヤネはミッキーもミニーもドナルドダックもグーフィーもプルートも皆わかっています。いろんな人にアヤネの年で行っても行った事は忘れちゃうって言われたけれど、至る所にいるミッキーのプリントや写真や人形などを見るたびに、「ミッキー！ミッキー！！」って大はしゃぎでした。やっぱりいってよかったナーと思います。ところが、ママが予想してたとおりにアヤネはいわゆるカブリモノを着たミッキーやミニーとお隣で一緒に写真を撮ろうとすると怖がりました。ハイファイブ！かハイ・バイ！って言うのが精一杯でしたね。

Daddy planned everything for us and we went to Walt Disney World In Florida for Christmas!! Yey!!! Ayane is into Disney characters now and she knows all main characters like Mickey and Goofy. Many said she would not remember she went but she was very happy whenever she discovered Mickey all over the place like Mickey on the napkin, in the store and on any display etc. Well, only one thing she did not like too much was the actual Mickey like I expected. You know that the real person inside the costume of Mickey taking photo with people!? She was scared of them. All she could do was to give them hi five and say hi or bye.

マジックキングダム、エプコット、そしてアニマルキングダムに一日ずつ行きました。ビュンビュンいくライドなどには乗らずテーマパークの周りを走る汽車に乗ったり小さい子用の触って遊べる様な物を見て回り、パレードを見たりママの好きなミュージカル系のショーや3Ｄの短い映画のショーを見ました。エプコットではママの要望でいろんな国の中のもちろん日本でゴハンを食べました。パパはアヤネにアンパンマンのお菓子も見つけました。パパの楽しみはターキーのお肉でした。おじいちゃんとおばあちゃんはアヤネが何かが欲しかったし抱っこして欲しかったりしてウネウネする度に面倒を見てくれました。それに夕方宿に帰ったあともアヤネの面倒を見てくれてパパとママはまたテーマパークに戻って夜の花火を見に行くことができました。

We went Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom one day at the time. No high speed rides but we enjoyed train ride around the theme park, looking around the exhibitions for kids which Ayane could touch. We also enjoyed watching the parade, musical type of shows which mommy likes the most, and 3D show. We ate at 'Japan' of Epcot of course. Daddy enjoyed turkey legs. Nana and Bubba were always nice, took care of Ayane all the time and actually they responded to her whenever Ayane became whinny for something which mommy and daddy don't necessarily nicely respond (just because). They also took care of Ayane for mommy and daddy so that we could go out at night again for romantic date night and for the fireworks!!!

雪遊び/Snow play

大雪が降りました。それも本とはフロリダのディズニーに行く予定だったのにフライトキャンセルでした。でもパパが頑張って全部フライトもホテルも一日遅らせて一日延ばしました。というわけで、アヤネを完全防備させて外に出してみました。嫌がるかなーと思ったけど転んだ時意外大喜びでした。転んだらもう下向いたまま泣くだけ。パパが作った雪の玉を踏みつける遊びをしました。

We had bad snow! We were supposed to go down to Disney World that day but our flight was cancelled. Daddy did great job changing flight and rebooked hotel etc so I kicked Ayane out to snow by dressing her up very well in Princess jacket from Nana, turtle neck shirts and pants from mommy's friend Atsuko's granddaughter, tights and boots from Michelle's two little beautiful daughters. Well, I thought she would hate snow touching her face and not be able to move around well but she loved it to be in the snow especially stepping on the snowballs daddy made.

ロジャー・ウィリアムス・パーク動物園/Roger Williams Park Zoo

ロジャー・ウィリアムス・パーク動物園というマサチュウセッツ州のひとつ南にあるロードアイランド州にある動物園に行って来ました。ボストンにもフランクリンパーク動物園があるんですが小さいしゾウさんがいません。羊さんとかヤギさんとか触れる小動物からゾウさんまでアヤネは楽しんでいました。リンゴ狩りと同じでパパと手をつないで歩いたりちょっと走り回ったりとても楽しい一日でした。

We went to Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island. We have Franklin Park Zoo in Boston but there is no elephant. Ayane mainly enjoyed the petting zoo especially goats. They make noises and they move around than other animals. She knows the word "elephant" and learned the word "goat." Again me and Chris enjoyed the zoo with Ayane walking around and also watching her enjoying herself with animals. She knows much more now. It was fun.

リンゴ狩り/Apple picking

リンゴ狩りに行ったのはハロウィーンの前の九月だったので順番を間違えてしまいました。ニューヨークのに引っ越したママのお友達のジェシカとジョージが遊びに来ていたので一緒にアヤネを連れてリンゴ狩りに行って来ました。リンゴ狩りといってもいつもママとパパはリンゴ狩りではなく日本の梨も生っているのでメインは梨狩りです。でもこっちはリンゴ狩りがメジャーなのでアヤネのためにリンゴも採りました。シャツの首周りがビッショリになるほどリンゴも梨ももくもく食べていました。バランスは良くなっているけれどまだ加減のわかっていないアヤネなのでいつも心配なんですがリンゴ園はコンクリートじゃなくて草の上だし、一緒に歩いて回ってとリンゴと梨を採って食べるのはとても楽しかったです。ますますいろんな家族らしいことが出来るようになってきてとても楽しみです。

We went to Lookout farm for apple picking. I screwed up the order. We went apple picking in September so this apple picking post should be before Halloween one but it really doesn't matter. We went with my friend Jessica and her son George who were visiting Massachusetts. Me mainly pick Asian pears... not mainly but always pick only pears but this time we picked apples too because Ayane. She loved both apples and asian pears. It was very fun walking around with Ayane who was also walking around by her own feet picking and eating fruits. She has good balance but still she can easily trip over and crack her head. The ground was grass and dirt so it was good time. It is very exciting being able to do the "family" stuff more and more.

ハロウィーン/Halloween

この３ヶ月サボっていた間にハロウィーンもありました。保育園のパーティーではお子ちゃまコスチュームの中では超基本のパンプキンちゃんのコスチュームを着せました。カブリモノ系は嫌いみたいです。最近オレンジ色のあまりの生地でスモックを作って着せたら「All Done!! 」って言われちゃいました。このパンプキンちゃんのコスチュームを思わせるのでしょうか？

ともかくお菓子で機嫌を何とかとりもどしてパーティーには参加できました。なんとかですが。ケーキ類に「おぇ！」っときてしまい誕生日にケーキでお祝いできなかったカワイソウなままとしては、ビデオには撮れませんでしたがおいしそうにカップケーキを食べる自分の娘にホッとしうれしいかぎりでした。「ケーキっておいしいものなのよ！イッパイ食べなさい！！」と心の中で緑色したスゴイ色のカップケーキにちょっとゾッとしながらうれしく思いました。

Well, while I was taking a looong time updating my blog, there was Halloween. She put the basic pumpkin costume. I think she hates those stuff. Sometimes her jacket and often her hat. I made an art smock using my orange leftover fabric but she hated it. Maybe because the color or feel like putting extra layer!?

She did participate the party with her costume on...barely by eating her snack. Mother who has a sort of allergic reaction to cake and never had a birthday cake when she grow up was very very happy watching her eating this GREEN cupcake very nicely. I was relieved. I was very sad growing up without a birthday cake. But WOW, things in the US are sometimes so crazy especially to me!? to Japanese people!? It's just food coloring but GREEN. WOW!!

ハロウィーン当日はパパの育った家の近所にあるジョンおじさんの家に遊びに行ってパパを子供のときから知っている家族の家をまわってキャンディーをもらいに行って来ました。アヤネにとって今回はハロウィーン二回目だったけれど、ちゃんとパンプキンちゃんのバケツを持って歩いてキャンディーをもらいに行ったのは初めてでした。ちょっとまだちゃんと他の人と歩くペースには追いつかずダッコばっかりしてたけど。ジョンおじさんの家にやってきた子供達にもアヤネは頑張ってキャンディーもあげました。今日のコスチュームは家族揃ってメキシコ人でした。ママはメキシコのマヤ遺跡パパといった時に買ったドレス、アヤネはママとパパの仕事場の人に買って来てもらったママと同じのドレス、パパはママのブランケットの真ん中とチョン切って作った即席のポンチョにボウシ。

On the real Halloween day, we visited uncle Jon's house and his neighbor where daddy grew up. Ayane helped giving out candy to kids who visited uncle Jon's house. After that we visited daddy's family friends for Ayane to get candy and say hi to them. This year was her 2nd year doing Halloween stuff but this year the first time she carried the bucket and walked around the neighbor. That was nice. Well, still taking long time and carried her from there to there. Well, we were Mexicans. Actually not sure Mexican people wear these dress. I bought this dress when I visited Mayan ruin. Daddy put blanket mommy cut the middle of it with scissors.

日本に帰りました！/Summer in Japan '09

３ヵ月があっという間でもなかったんですが経ってしまいました。写真のセレクションができなくて載せたいの全部入れてしまいました。という事で日本に帰ってきました。もらったギフトカードで旅の最後に一泊で行って来ました。アップグレードしてもらっちゃって、海の見える大きな窓の部屋でガラス張りの大理石のお風呂からは外の海も見えました。アヤネの一番のお気に入りはイッツアスモールワールドでした。

It's been 3 months since I updated my blog last in August. I have been telling my close friends that I could never narrow down the photos for this post about our trip to Japan so I decided to post them all. This post must be the longest with many photos ever my blog history. Yey, the first photo is taken at Tokyo Disney Resort. Probably one hour away from my house but we spend overnight at the hotel near Tokyo Disney Resort. They upgraded our room and we stay at the room with a huge window facing to Tokyo Bay!! Ayane is now into Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh but she enjoyed a few ride like 'It's a small world."

家族はいいですね。やっぱりなかなか家族と会えなくてそれもアヤネやクリスとの一緒の時間がもてない。でもこの三週間の間楽しんできました。やっぱり日本は暑い。かわいそうにこのクリスとこの暑さに関してはまったくアメリカ人のアヤネには大変でした。他の日本の赤ちゃん達は問題なくすやすやあの暑さでも寝れているのに、アヤネはまったくもってバギーに揺られながら寝ることは出来ませんでした。ウチワを持ち歩いて歩きながら仰いでやりました。うちのママがアヤネとよく水遊びしてくれたんですが、あやねチョーお気に入りでした。

I was very happy that I went home to see my family I miss everyday here and also happy that my family had a chance to see Ayane and Chris. Yes, it was hot. I tolerated but people like Chris and Ayane born and grow up in US had a hard time. I felt so sorry that all Japanese babies I saw tolerated the heat in Japan and actually could fall asleep in the hot weather but Ayane never could fall asleep there. But she enjoyed play with water a lot. When my mom sometimes babysat Ayane, she enjoyed water play...watering plants? Splashing water with my mother.

弟の拓が私たちのために大切な一週間の休暇を取ってくれました。その後もほぼ毎日アヤネに会いにやってきてくれました。アヤネの大好きなアンパンマンのお店にも連れて行ってくれたのも拓でした。四谷の仕事場の近くで見つけたんだそうです！？

Uncle Taku took 1 week off for us. Even after his precious 1 week off a year for us, he visited us almost every day. He was the one who took Ayane to her favorite cartoon charactor ANPANMAN store near his office.

浅草/Again in Asakusa

都庁の前の京王プラザホテルのしゃぶしゃぶ/Lunch at a hotel in front of Tokyo metropolitan govenment!?

ゴハンの時間は大変でした。勝手が違うし、アヤネが好きで食べれるものを探したりするのも大変でした。日本のレストランはいいですねー！！どこのお店も子供用メニューに子供用の食器。その食器には子供達の大好きなミッキーやプーさん。ディズニーのメニューには私たちも驚き写真を撮りました。なんていったってどの日本のこだわりと可愛さがいいですねー。

Always the meal time was hard but this country called Japan had the great for kids. Every single restaurant has good selection of kids meal and very kids friendly. Every place we went, they have this kids size utensils, plate, bowl etc with their favorite charactor like Michey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh. Showing below is one of their simple kids menu display at Tokyo Disney Resort. They do good business there.

従姉妹のマキちゃんとマミちゃんに誘ってもらい千葉のウォーターパークに行って来ました。

We were invited by my lovely cousins to go onto a short trip to Chiba, Japan which several hours away from Tokyo to visit their local water park.

こんな浮き輪もちゃんともって帰ってきました。

We got this thingy with stering wheel for Ayane! Of course we brought it from Japan!!!

ガラス吹きにも連れて行ってもらいました。そこのお兄さん!?にこんな顔してゆっくり吹くんだといわれて真似してみました。アヤネはまだちっさ過ぎるので手形を作ってもらいました。砂に手形を作ってそこにドロドロしたガラスを流し込むらしいです。出来上がりはママに記念として置いてきました。

We also visited this glass making class there. I was making this face copying these tree guys in the photo. The guy from the glass making class told us to blow air making the face like this. Ayane was too small to participate but she made her hand shaped glass thingy. She put her hand on the special sand, the guy pressed her palm into the sand for only 2 second, put very hot soft glass into the hand shaped sand and wait to get cold. I left it with my mother for memory.

表参道の子供の本屋さんクレヨンハウス/Crayon House in Omotesando

六本木のオシャレというかゴージャスなショッピングビルの中にあった？？？ディスプレー？説明もなかったので何なのかよくわかりませんが誰かが作ったのでしょう。日本人ならこんなことは絶対しない人種でしょうが私たちほぼアメリカ人なのでアヤネを中に入れてみることにしました。なかなか可愛く撮れたと思うんですが。

It's sort of art thingy at the fancy shopping place in Roppongi, Tokyo. I don't think we were not supposed to put her there and I dare no Japanese would do what we did!? But she looks cute in there.

楽しい時間はすぐに終わってしまいます。今回私はまだ待てると思ったんですがアヤネにもパパが飛行機のチケットを買いました。買って正解。なかったら超大変だった。行きは待ち時間が長すぎてアヤネに全身吐かれ、行きも帰りもミシガンのホテルで一泊しなくてはいけませんでした。でもアヤネ二回目の日本、パパもアヤネま頑張ってくれました。パパはあんなに暑いおもいするのわかっているのに「二週間でいいよ!?」と言う私に「三週間いくんだ！」と言い張ってくれました。

Time goes fast. Daddy bought a ticket for Ayane too this time even I thought we can wait until next time but but he was right. It was the best decision we made during this trip. Well, we got stuck in Michigan on the way and on the way back twice, I got vomit on all over me on the way due to the wait and we stayed at a hotel... Our second trip to Japan with Ayane was good. Even I told daddy that we can go only two weeks and he know it would be so hot and he will supper but he insisted to stay there for 3 weeks for me!!

帆船/Tall ship Boston

スランプぎみで更新が遅れましたスミマセン！もう７月の始めの話だったんですが、ボストンに帆船が来てたんです。愛さんが一緒に見に行ってくれました。６月７月の頭までずーっとへんな天気だったんですがこの日は暑いくらい好い天気で帆船を見るにはもってこいの日でした。私たちの乗った船はブラジル海軍のトレイニング用の船でCisne Branco（白鳥という意味でしょうか？）一番奥にあって乗るのに一番空いてたんです。

Tall ships were here in Boston bay and it was my first time to go to this event. I saw a tall ship from south shore Boston but I have never seen tall ships this close or ride on it. I was looking forward to going to this event for a long time. I even put the date on my calendar! Summer did not come to Boston for a while but it was really nice day even a little hot to see tall ship. The ship we visited called Cisne Branco and it was a training ship of Brazilian navy. There were some but this ship was all the way at the end and there were less people lining up waiting to visit than other ships. he he

ウィンブルドン/Wimbledon

今日テレビでウィンブルドンを見ていたらアヤネがいきなり一所懸命に応援しだしましたー！！ウィンブルドンの応援だから普通に話しているようなのではなくて、ちゃんと抑揚が付いていて応援しているように聞こえるんです。「やったー！」とか「もっと頑張れ！」って感じで何か言ってるんです。また最近って２週間おきぐらいですが、1単語ではなくてやっぱり何か話しているようで話し言葉になってきています。もちろん何を言っているかはよくわかりません。でもきっと周りで皆が話しているのを聞いてるんですよね。

Ayane suddenly started cheering while I was watching Wimbledon today. It used to be one word or two, but now it's more like talking. It was like "Oh, come one!! You can do better than that!!" I wonder where she got that!?

コチョコチョ/Tickling

今回はアヤネが（英語でですが）コチョコチョって言いました。英語を完璧に日本語にするのは難しいですが「ティックル！ティックル！！」って感じですかね。チョットいまいちで本当にくすぐっているというかダディーとママの真似をしているだけっていうところですが、親バカとしては可愛くて可愛くてしょうがないんですよ！でも自閉児を教えてきた私としては普通児の成長の仕方その速さに脅かされます。確かにダディーは最初足の裏をくすぐったけど膝もくすぐってた。なのにアヤネはちゃんとわざわざ座って自分の足の裏をくすぐるんです。アヤネは確かにいろんなことを見ていて毎日起こる靴を履いたり鍵やかばんを持ったりするけれども、アヤネにキスしてなんて頼んだこと一度もないのに最近口にキスしてくれたりするんですよ。ともかく物事を処理する速さってすごいですね。日本語頑張らなくちゃ！最近本当にいろんな言葉がどんどん頭に入っているらしくて「Book=ブック」って言っているようなんですよ。チョットまだ早いかな？言えないんだなと思って「本・ほん」とかシツコク言わせてなかったんですけど...ブックなんて基本的な簡単な言葉なのに！！くやしーい！！！ママの日本語オンリーを強化しなくてわっ！

Ayane tickled daddy this time by saying "tickle." It's more like she just copied daddy and mommy but did not understand the concept yet. Well, the way she said tickle was soooooooooooo cute TO US, to the proud parents. Also I was amazed by the fact she sat down and tickle (her) feet and how/how quick a human being learns those things since I have been teaching students with special needs. Daddy originally in this video showed her tickling his foot but his knee too. How does she know to tickle her feet? She does tries to put shoes on yes, she holds a bag and keys when she thinks we are heading out. But we never asked her to give us a kiss but she seems to know to give us a kiss on our lips!! Well, how fun to see my daughter grows! I must try harder and my very best on her Japanese skills!! It seems to me that she is much much better with words and understanding the concept. I heard the word "book' the other day. In any language the word book must be a basic word a baby leans, right!? I really need to work on my only Japanese relationship with Ayane!! 　

イチゴ狩り/Strawberry picking

イチゴ狩りに行ってきましたー！アヤネが生後２ヶ月のときに連れて行っているので今回はアヤネにも私にとってもクリスもかな？イチゴ狩り２回目でした。梨狩りに続きホワイト家の毎年恒例の行事にしたいですね。去年アヤネがまだ生後２ヶ月で子育てとっても大変だったけど外出しよう！楽しいことしよう！という事でイチゴ狩りに行った感じだったのではと思います。それにアヤネが生まれてアヤネに沢山楽しい経験をさせたいって思ってましたしね。アヤネも思ったより楽しんだようです。なんていってもまだまだ小さくて実際にイチゴ狩り！なんてと思いながら自分が楽しむためにぐらいで行ったのにアヤネがとっても楽しんでいるのにママは大満足でした。今回も私が言いだしっぺで私が行きたかったんですが、クリスも「病み付きになって止められないー！」といって楽しんていました。ともかく沢山生っているイチゴに目がくらみどんどん取ると小さくても摘んじゃうんですがそこは我慢するんです。小さいのはまだすっぱいから。１メートル弱に一個は大きくて甘いのが生ってるんですよ。それを取るんです！！皆シャツを赤く染めて帰ってきました。（２番目のビデオ横向きになってしまいました、すいません！）

Ayane was 2 months old when she went strawberry picking for the first time. It was my first time too so I went crazy picking them and Chris ended up watching Ayane who was in the stroller for the whole time. I think we were so tired and busy taking care of a newborn baby but I did not want to be stuck in the house but do something fun, and I think I was so excited about the life with her and doing this "family activities." So this year was her second time! She actually did not pick strawberry but she was munching them me and Chris picked. It seemed she enjoyed a lot than we expected. This year Chris went crazy picking strawberries. It is addictive to pick strawberries but you have to be patient. You will be amazed how much strawberries are there but many of them are small. The thing is you have to find the big ones!! Small ones are sour. I don't stay in one place. There is always a big one in every one or two feet apart. You have to pick the big ones. They are sweet. Well, everyone came home with red stains on the shirts. (Sorry, the 2nd video is sideways!)

パパとおじさん/Da-Da vs.Uncle

チーズ・ジュース・ダダ・ママに始まり、もっと（ちょうだい）！の意味のモアー・Moreや終わり！の意味のダン・Doneも言えるようになってエッ？？？って思いますが、今日はなんとアヤネが英語で「おじさん！・Uncle!」って言えました!? ウッソー！！カの行が言えるなんてまだまだ想像も期待もしてなかったんですが、なんと叔父さんという意味の“Uncle"をそれも連発しました。ビデオを取る前も後も連発してたんです。ビーックリ！！明日もチョット言わせてみようと思います。

It started from words like "cheese" "juice" "da-da" "ma-ma." She now says "more" and she signs for that!! She says "done" at the end of her meal. BUT BUT BUT today, Surprise! Ayane said a word "Uncle" today!? I never imagined and expected her to say words with C or K sound yet, but she REPEATED the word "uncle." I have to try and let her say it tomorrow again!.

お耳の歌/Do Your Ears Hang Low?

またまたブルーヒルズ/Blue Hills-Chickatawbut

またまたブルーヒルズにハイキングしに行ってきました。今回はパパとママの働いている学校で前に働いていてパパとはボーイスカウトで小さい時からの友達のクリスも一緒に来てくれました。Chickatawbutって日本語でどう書けばいいかかわかりません。“マサチューセッツ”っていう名前も含めけっこう沢山のアメリカ先住民が使っていた名前が残っています。Chickatawbutもそのひとつ。って前に紹介した自然保護地区Blue Hillsにある一つのハイキングコースの名前です。

We went hiking at Blue Hills again. This time daddy's good friend Chris came along. They were friends from Boy Scouts time and Chris used to work for the school mommy and daddy works. I don't know how to spell Chickatawbut in Japanese but I believe the words like Chickatawbut and Massachusetts came from Native Americans. There are many names like these here in Massachusetts. Well, Chickatawbut is one of Blue Hills hiking trails.

バイダイ/Bye dye

一度バイバイが言えるようになったはずだったんですが、いつのまにか「バイダイ!」になってしまいました。きっと「バイバイ、ダディー(Daddy)!」と言っていたのがその後バイバイとダディーが混ざってしまって｛バイダイ!」になってしまったのだと私は思っているんです。私がドアの近くで鞄を持ったり靴を履いたり鍵を持ったりすると特にちゃんとタイミングよく「バイダイ！　バイダイ！！」って連発します。でもいまだに誰かがアヤネに向かって「バイバイ！」って言ってくれても滅多にタイミングよくバイバイできません。自分中心なのでアヤネ自身がAという場所からBという場所に行く！ということを自覚してそれとタイミングよくすべての環境が揃った時にいたラッキーでアヤネにバイバイしてくれたその人はアヤネの「バイダイ」が聞けます。残念ながら今はその人がいなくなっちゃってからバイバイが多いですね。

Ayane was able to say "bye-bye" to people once, but bye-bye turned into "BYE-DYE" now. I think she says "bye dye" because I often said to her "Say, bye bye daddy!" when daddy was leaving the house. She repeats "bye dye" when I start getting stuff like bags, jackets, keys or putting my shoes on. Sadly she still cannot say "bye" in a timely manner too often to people who nicely say bye to her. The world turns all around her. If you have to say bye to her when she is aware and understand she is going to move one place to another then you can hear her saying "bye bye" to you. She often says bye bye after the person actually left her sight.

メモリアルデイ/Memoriatl Day

メモリアルデイというアメリカの戦没者を称え追悼する祝日が５月の最後の週末にあり、おばあちゃんの家で（アメリカではCookoutをいいますが）バーベキューパーティーしました。アメリカでは全国的にメモリアルデイからが夏が始まり（だからバーベキューらしいです）レイバーデー（労働の日？というこれまた８月の最後にある祝日）で夏が終わるまで皆夏休みを取ったりして夏をエンジョイするらしいです。　

We were invited to Nana and Papa's Memorial Day Cookout last week. People call it "cookout" which I think people in Japan call it "BBQ." Well that's what people here in US will usually have on Memorial Day because cookout is the summer thing, I guess. Here in United States, Memorial Day which at the end of May means the beginning of summer and Labor Day which at the end of August means the end of summer. It seems kids are out of school and people take a vacation now.

トウモロコシに挑戦！/Corn

トウモロコシを食べるのに挑戦しました。ってトウモロコシを食べるのなんて見たことないはずなのに上手くできてました。それも可愛いことにチャンとかじってるんです！！もともと料理をしないママなのでアヤネの離乳食メニューにママとパパで試行錯誤しています。いとこのマキちゃんに聞いてキューピーのよい子の食卓のサイトや拓おじさんが送ってくれた離乳食大全科の本を見て頑張っていますがなかなか上手くいきません。お豆腐と鶏肉のメニューは片栗粉を入れてもハンバーグ状にならずパサパサしてしまってアヤネ「べぇ！」って口から出されてしまいました、残念。

Ayane tried to eat corn. She found out how to eat it by herself and she was biting off some chunk. I am having hard time with baby food thing. I don't cook!! Since I got my first job, my current job, I eat dinner with my students. Breakfast and lunch is not like really COOKing. I check Japanese baby food site my cousin, Maki told me to check and using the book my brother sent to me. I made this recipe with tofu and ground chicken. I was supposed to be able to make a ball with them if I mix with cornstarch but I couldn't. Ayane hated it because it was dry and spat it out of her mouth!! I will try something else.

ライラック・サンデー/Lilac Sunday

“ライラックサンデー”という催しにまたまたハーバード大学の木樹園へ行ってきました。木樹園のまわりには今まで見たこともない数の車と人が今日のライラックサンデーに行くために車を路駐しようとしていました。私は６００円ていど払って隣の病院の駐車場に止めちゃいました。なんていったって念願のライラックサンデーですから。去年はアヤネが生まれて１ヶ月だったからチョット一人の外出はまだ難しかったんです。まだいつ泣くかいつお腹が空くかいつウンチするかとか車での移動などなどとっても大変だったんだよーって一緒に行ったマリコちゃんとも話をした。来年はランチもって来たいとか、アヤネは今日いっぱい来ていた子供達のように走り回われるようになってママは楽になってるかなーとか、（ジョンおじさんからもらったような）ワーゴンにのってつれてこようかなとか、もしかしたら２人目がいてもっと大変になってるかもー！！とか話しました。

今日はお空真っ青で気温もあったんですがでもチョット風があってですねライラックの花の香りがちょうど良く匂ってきてました。調べたらライラックは日本でもライラックでした。紫色のライラックとしてのほうが知られているようですね。白、濃い紫、薄い紫、濃いのと薄いのが混ざったもの、外側が濃い紫で花びらの内側が薄い紫のもの、そして白にチョット紫がかった花自体が細いものなどがメインでしたね。かなり沢山の「日本」ていう言葉がついている木がなにげにあるんですよね。普通のライラックって低木なんですが幹も木自体もかなり大きい普通のライラックより２週間ほど遅れて咲く日本のライラックっていうのもありました。もちろん桜も！今コチラはもちろんハナミズキが満開です。５０％くらいの確率ですかね、１０軒に五軒の家が庭にハナミズキが咲いていると思います、こちら。モクレンはチョット前まだちょっと寒かった頃に満開になって終わってしまいました。やはり私にはモクレンが最初で春が来るって感じですね。チョット上手に写真を撮れなかったんですがね上手いようにちゃんとライラック満開の木々の間を歩けるように植えてあるんですよ！！！皆匂いを嗅いだり写真を撮ったり桜の花見のように隣に座って日向ぼっこしてました。

We went to Arnold Arboretum AGAIN for Lilac Sunday. SO many people SO many cars but I needed to go because I missed this Lilac Sunday last year. Ayane was 1 month old and I was 1 month old mother who did not have any ideas of when she will cry, get hungry, have poopy, and so on. It was simply too hard for me to go anywhere especially day trip like this. I parked at the hospital next to it by paying like $6 for 2 hours!? We took Mariko from work along and talked about bringing lunch next year. Ayane cried a little but fell asleep most of the time AGAIN. But we talked about her next year probably it could be much easier Ayane running around this arboretum pretty much by herself..taking the wagon she got from Uncle Jon next year like many other people actually did brought the wagon today. Kids with stroller, walking, running around, everywhere with scooter thingy and tricycles. Maybe it will be much harder with my second child in my arm and watching Ayane going everywhere!!

The nice thing was it was a little windy on Mother's day so we could smell Lilac by just walking by them. I am not sure I've ever seen Lilac in Japan. Depend on countries, there are different types of trees, But I found many trees which originally from Japan in this arboretum. It's kinda different and difficult about English tree names and Japanese tree names also they use different terms or names when they call trees. Besides I am not that familiar with trees although I like it actually. Totally influenced by my mother. My mother even took courses about trees (?) at the university and recommended to go to the university for it to me too. I believe "Sakura" the cherry trees are a biiiiiiig deal to Japanese people, especially me (maybe my family). My house/courtyard was like covered with this Sakura. I grew up with them. Now is Dogwood, of course. I think 50% of household own this dogwood in their yard include our house. To me, spring comes to Boston/Massachusetts when I see Magnolia but they are gone a little while ago like a month. Well, this arboretum has a path. Lilac path you can walk thorough. People were enjoying the smell, taking pictures of flowers, and sitting/picnicking next to trees on the hill of lilac trees.

チョットお気に入りを見つけました。Mountain Silver Bellっていったかな。エゴノキですかね花が下向いてるんです。花を見ると、ツバキですかね姫沙羅か？みたいな黄色い雌蕊と雄蕊なんです。Snowbellともいうらしいです。

Found something I like. It's called Mountain Silverbell. The flower looks like a bell and facing down. If you look at the flower, it also looks like "camellia" and yellow in the middle. People call it "snowbell" too.

公園デビュー/Playground debut

公園デビューしましたー！って言うほどのことでもありませんでしたが、休み最後の家族での楽しい散歩のあとに公園に寄りました。滑り台はことのほかよく笑って喜んでましたが、ブランコにはしーずかに揺られてました。でも隣でブランコにのってた女の子にはチョット興味があるみたいでした。遊ぶにはアヤネはまだ小さすぎてダメかと思ってたけどけっこうイケテましたね。近所の公園っていうものはうちの近所にはなくて、やはり私の住んでる所からどこに行くのにもさすがアメリカ歩いたら最低３０分ぐらいは楽々かかってしまいます。この公園はBlue　Hills（ブルーヒルズ）というボストンからはちょっと郊外になりますがうちからは近い車で15-20分の所にあるけっこう大きな自然保護地域の中にある公園です。グランドキャニオンとかヨセミテみたいな大きい国立公園とまではいきませんが、いっぱい木が見えるでしょ！うちの近くにこんな所があって私はかなりハッピーです。　この辺には青っぽい石があるらしく、昔ヨーロッパから海を渡ってきた人がこの場所を遠くから見た時に青いものが見えてブルーヒルズになったらしいです。

Visiting playground and this state park was the last family outing during this vacation. She seemed loving the slide but she was very quiet on the swing...looking at a girl who was also on another swing next to her. Growing so fast. I thought she was still a bit too small for all those playground equipment but she pretty enjoyed it. These is no playground near my house. I am in USA. Everything is 30 minutes walk or more away from my house. People here really cannot walk to anywhere. This playground belongs to Blue Hills. Blue Hills is the state park 20 minutes away from Boston and also from my house. It is not like Grand Canyon or Yosemite but I am very happy about this Blue Hills Reservation. I love hiking person rather than swimming at the beach. You cannot see places like Blue Hills in the middle of Tokyo. Well, it seems there are bluish rocks on Blue Hills and this person or people from Europe long time ago saw this area bluish. Blue Hills.

裏庭でプール/Backyard fun

パパとママの２週間のお休みもあと残りわずかになってきました。2,3日まえに40度近くまで気温が上がると聞いていたのでパパがアヤネのために700円のプールをベイビーザラスで買ってきました。裏庭でそのプールに水を張って水遊びをしました。パパったらとっても嬉しそうです。アヤネもシャベルやバケツも使って水遊びを楽しみました。

Mommy and daddy's vacation is almost over. 2,3, days ago we heard it will be like 90 degree out so daddy bought a $7 swimming pool for Ayane from Babiesrus. Daddy put water in there and Ayane enjoyed water play with her new shovel and bucket at the backyard. Daddy looks so happy.

ケープコット/Cape Cod

本当に今週は先週末からにかけて天気もよく気温も上がっていたのでケープコットに１泊ビーチ旅行に行ってきました。アヤネの初めてビーチでもありました。水はまだ冷たく手足を水にチョットつけただけでした。パパはビーチも泳ぐのも好きなんですが、ママの方は水も泳ぐのも苦手でパパがプールに泳ぎに行こうって誘っても全然行きたがらないから、アヤネが嫌がったらどうしよう？これから一緒にビーチに遊びにいけなかったら？と思ってドキドキしてたんです。アヤネはけっこう嫌がりもせずスタスタ砂の上も上手に歩いてました。貝殻で遊ぶのも気に入ってたみたいです。

It's been very nice and we had very high temperature like 70s to 80s so we went down to Cape Cod. It was the Ayane's first beach experience too. Daddy was very worried about Ayane who might not like beach or swimming since mommy doesn't like swimming and she says NO to swimming every time daddy asks her to go swimming with him. Ayane did pretty good job walking on the sand and seemed enjoying playing with shells.

アイスクリーム/Ice Cream

パパとママの仕事が休みみという事で１日中家の中ににいるのもアヤネがおかしくなってしまうのでCastle Islandという海に近い所にまた散歩しに行きました。この日は週末で温度も上がったので今までに見たこともないほどの人たちがいてビーチでは４月なのに水着で日光浴やビーチバレーまでしている人が沢山でした。私達は散歩の途中で車でやってくるアイスくりーむ屋さんのアイスクリームも食べました。

The temperature was very nice and we went to Castle Island and near by beach for walk. There were so many people I've never seen before. They were in bathing suits getting tan, walking, BBQ, flying a kite and so on. We walked around there and ate ice cream.

滑り台/Slide

やっとボストンにも暖かい気候がやって来ました。実はパパとママが仕事をしている学校が２週間お休みになりました。という事でアヤネと一緒に沢山遊べる時間が出来たんです。この日は滑り台に挑戦でした。アヤネなかなか滑り台でシューっといくの好きみたいでパンツは汚くなったけど初滑り大成功でした！

Finally the nice weather is here in MA. Daddy and mommy has 2 weeks off from work so we have more time to play together. So Ayane tried the slide and she seemed loving going down the slide.

ワゴン乗り/Riding on wagon

誕生日にジョンおじさんからもらったワゴンに乗って近所を回ってみましたー。近所のおじさんとおじさんのあずかっているいぬのLily(リリー)に会いました。なかなか上手にアヤネ座ってお散歩できました。ジョンおじさんアリガトー！

We went for a walk around our neighbor with Ayane riding on her wagon which she got for her birthday from Uncle Jon. We met our neighbor with a dog named Lily. Ayane did good job sitting on her wagon. Thank you Uncle Jon!

アヤネ２回目のヘアカット/Ayane's 2nd haircut

今度はパパとおばあちゃんも髪を切りに行く美容室で髪を切ってもらいました。前回前髪がすぐ伸びてしまったので今回は前髪をチョット短めに切ってもらいました。髪が乾いたら濡れているときより短くなるのはわかっていたけれど短めに切ってもらったらやっぱり皆に「髪切ったー！？」って言われるぐらいになりました。どうでしょう？

まねっこおサル/Monkey see Monkey do

アヤネが結構賢くなってきてるのが目に見えるようになりました。どんなことって言ったら例えば、蓋を取ったり蓋を付けようとしたり、靴や靴下を足に突きつけて履こうとしたりそして帽子を頭につけてかぶろうとしたり、なんて言ったって「バイバイ」って言える様になりました。今回のビデオはパパがアヤネのお風呂をブブーって膨らましている真似じゃないなーアヤネも一緒にブブーっとやってパパのお手伝いをしました。

Ayane is getting smart and we can actually see it. For instance, she tries to put a lid on the whatever the thing has a lid and she places a sock on her foot and tries to put the sock on or places a hat on her head. Most of all, she says "bye bye" to herself and people. This video you will see her trying to blow the air into the inflatable bath tub like daddy did.

実は昔パパとママの働いていた看護婦のミッシェルがママがはじめて

She is Michelle and girls. Michelle was mommy and daddy's school nurse and

the first non family member who I said I was pregnant. She gave me a lot of advice.

ママの大学時代からお世話になっている第２の母、恵子さんです。

She did not like to be put into this thing because there were so many people

アヤネ1才になりましたー！/Ayane's first birthday!

アヤネが4月12日に1才の誕生日を迎えましたー！

Ayane had her 1st birthday on April 12, 2009!!

すくすく育って一年たった今ではちゃんとした靴を履いて歩いてます。ゴハンも手を使ったりたまにはママとパパが喜ぶのでスプーンも使ってご飯を食べたりしています。「あー！あー！」って言って物を欲しがったりします。またビデオすぐ載せますね。前日の11日には家族や友達を呼んでパーティーもしました。皆さんありがとうございまーす。この1才の誕生日にアヤネに何かハハから言葉や思いを！と思うんですが、アヤネへの愛おしさや、思い、愛してるよーと感じているとやっぱりまず最初に自分の両親に自分はこんなに愛されて育ったんだとわかり感謝します。こんなに元気に育ってくれてありがとう、アヤネ！ママはアヤネ大ー好きですよー！チュー！！アヤネの幸せと健康を願いそしてアヤネのこれからの素晴しい人生を満喫して欲しいです。ママはいつでもアヤネを愛し想い見守り応援し励ましそばにいますからネー。

いろんな人に気にかけてもらい親切にしてもらい愛してもらっています。やっぱりアヤネが生まれてからこの1年が私の人生の中で一番いろんなことが起きて充実した1年でしたね。妊娠中もなかなかいろんなことが起きて面白かったです、だから妊娠中も含めて。始まったばかりなのですが子供をつくるっていうことは素晴らしいんですね。1人目だったからなわけですけども妊娠中はなんか実感が湧かないだの何だのって言っていたけれど、今は絶対もう一人子供を産んでこのスバラシイ感触？をもう一度経験したいって感じてます。まだまだこれからまだ経験していない子育てのすばらしいさを経験するのだと思うと興奮してしまうし、もう一人子供を産まなくたっていいとは思うんけどやっぱりねー。アヤネと手をつないで歩けるようになったり、アヤネがママにキスしてくれるようになったり、アヤネが一人で洋服着れるようになったり、すぐ歯磨きしたり出来るようになるんですかねー。ホラやっぱりアヤネにも弟か妹を！って言うじゃないですか...ネッ！日本にもいるんですかね5人も6人もどんどん子供産み続ける人？こっちにはいます。なんどかその気持ちわからないでもないなーと思うんです、今だけは。なんかあまり間をおいても二人目産まないままになてしまいそうな感じもするし。わかりますかねー？他の人はどんなんでしょうか？

Ayane started walking with her shoes on now. She eats her meal using her hands and sometimes she uses her spoon especially because mommy and daddy get so excited and cheer when she eats with her spoon. She communicates with us about what she wants by saying "Ah-!?Ah-!?" We had her birthday party on April 11 because her real birthday was Easter Sunday the busy day for everyone. Thank you everyone!! I should say/write "something" for her 1st birthday from her mother to Ayane on this post but the more I think about my daughter the more I understand how much and how my parents love me and raised me. I would like to thank my parents on this day. Well, I am so happy that she is in good spirits and very healthy. I love you so much, Ayane. I wish your happiness and health, and also I wish you will enjoy your wonderful life coming ahead. I always love you, care about you, support you, encourage you and be there for you, always!!

I would like to thank everyone who always supports me, is kind, and care about me. Thank you. Well, it was the most wonderful year of my life. Gosh, so many things happened every single day, the wonderful things. Baby pimples on her face. Saw tears in her eyes for the first time(5/15). The first day I saw her smile (5/20). The day she got her first mail (6/3). Started staring at objects. Kicking her legs on a bouncer chair. First stay over at her grandparents house (7/7). First day at the day care (7/21). First laugh/giggle (7/21). Trip to Japan and turned over (4 months old). Started crawling (Dec.) and walking (Mar.) and... I should stop. If I think about it now, the period of pregnancy was great too. The whole process of having a baby is great!! While I was pregnant, I was saying I don't feel it's real and I wasn't loving it. Of course I wanted to have a baby and we did. Just it was the first pregnancy and I believe it happens to many women!? Definitely I will do this again. I want to have another baby and experience this 'feeling' again. This pregnancy and giving a birth experience!!! I get so excited about raising a child experience and all the things will happen to us in the future so I don't have another child. I wonder when me and Aynae will be able to walk holding hands together, when she kisses me on my cheek, and she puts her clothes on and she brushes her teeth by herself? Well, like everybody says "Ayane needs her brother or sister!" I also wonder if there are people in Japan like here in US who keep having 5, 6 and more babies?? I think there are many Americans who have more than 3 kids than Japan. I have never seen anyone my and my mother's generation have more than 3 kids. But, just for right now I think I can understand why they have many kids. I want to wait a little while to have another baby but I think I will never have another baby if I wait too long. Do you know what I mean?

ハンドメイドフリースジャケット/Handmade fleece jacket

ヤッター！！ママにも（フリース）ジャケットなんか作れちゃいましたー。って今まで裁縫した中で一番簡単でした。切って脇を縫うだけ、そして襟にバイヤステープ。裾も袖口も切りっぱなし縫いっぱなしです。フリース生地だから糸もほずれてこないんです。１時間で出来てしまいました。もう１着違う色か違う生地で試してみたいと思います。エイミーキャロルという人の本を見て作りました。あまりにも簡単だったのでお友達にもぜひ作ってプレゼントしたいんですが、ジャケットがママにも作れちゃったのは作り方も型紙もあったしなにしろ簡単だったから。ただ１８ヶ月から２４ヶ月用の型紙しかないので１８ヶ月から２４ヶ月用のジャケットしか作れませーん。チョットサイズをアジャストするやり方やチョット自分が好きなように作り変えるやり方を覚えたいと思ってます。

I tried a jacket this time...no I made an easy looking one. It's called "Sweet Wee Jacket" from Amy Karol person's new book "bend-the-rules SEWING book. Like the book says, the jacket is made with just two seams and finish with a bias binding at the neck. Nothing was done for the raw edge. I have to say this jacket was easiest thing to make ever. It took just one hour, really. I think I will make same jackets with different color fleece fabric or lighter fabric for her and some of my friends.

歯４になりましたー！/Teeth shot!

ヤッター！パパがアヤネの歯が４本はえてるところの写真を撮りましたー！！ドアップですけどね。最近歯ぎしりなんかするんでちょっと困りますというかいいんでしょうか？誰か教えてください。一応ホッペの辺りをマッサージしながら「やめときなよー！」ってアヤネには言ってます。年明けに初めての歯が下に生えて、二月に下の二本目、三月で上二つの計４本です。早ーい。もう一回ママはアヤネに噛まれました。って「ママ大好き！」ガブー！！って感じにいかれました。

Score! Daddy took a picture of Ayane with a big smile showing her teeth. She has total 4 teeth right now. She started gliding her teeth sometimes. I wonder it is ok for her to do that although she does not do that all the time. I usually massage around her cheek and tell her it doesn't sound good so quit! She had her first tooth came out in January, second bottom in Februarry, and two on the top middle. So fast. I already got eaten/bitten by her, once!
